DynCorp International Sponsors National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Golf Classic
FALLS CHURCH, Va., Aug 26, 2010 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- DynCorp International today announced that it will be the title sponsor of the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Golf Classic. The tournament will be held in Myrtle Beach, S.C., on November 7-12, 2010 with Sands Resorts serving as the host hotels.
The event, which is the world's largest law enforcement golf event, donates 100 percent of tournament proceeds to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund, and has raised $420,000 over the last 10 years. The money raised supports maintenance of the memorial, the annual Candlelight Vigil, research and the campaign to build the National Law Enforcement Museum.
DynCorp International's connection with the law enforcement community is rooted in its decades of experience supporting the U.S. Department of State Bureau for International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL) Civilian Police (CIVPOL) programs. More than 6,000 experienced civilian police advisors have been provided by DI in support of U.S. CIVPOL programs in 11 countries. The Company currently works on CIVPOL contracts with INL, providing mentors and trainers in Afghanistan, Iraq and elsewhere.
